Email Delivery Changes

Gmail recently changed some things.

And even if you don’t think you have Gmail, you still should read this.

What happened
Recently Gmail released an update that changed the way messages are filtered. In some cases, messages that previously went to in boxes are now going into spam/junk boxes. You may have noticed there are now category tabs (Social, Primary, & Promotions) into which your e-mail gets sorted as it is delivered.

Who cares
Even if you don’t use a Gmail account, this change may still affect you. Many custom email domains actually use a Gmail platform in the background. Custom domain examples would include john@johndoe .com and some of the brokerage emails in our market, john@xyzbrokerage .com.

What changed
Showing notifications from Supra lockboxes have been affected; the subject line for those emails now reads “Showing Value.”
Communication from the Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® is generated from a program called MailChimp. Our e-mails have the organization name, GBRAR, listed as sender. Your e-mail communications from the Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® are possibly being delivered into your Promotions tab.

How to fix it
If you would like our e-mail to be more visible by having them delivered directly into your Primary Tab all you need to do is drag and drop our e-mail into your Primary Tab and click "yes" when the pop up window asks if you'd like future messages from this email address to go to your Primary tab.
