Rules That Apply to Every GBRAR Award

Past recipients are not eligible.

Any REALTOR® or Affiliate member may nominate only one member each. No self-nominations.

Nomination forms must be submitted by September 30, 2026.

The Awards Committee serves as the final selection committee and may consider the prior year’s nominees.

All nominations and final selections are confidential. Information is shared only with the nominee’s broker, the committee, and staff.
REALTOR® of the Year (est. 1959)
Honors a member who advances the profession, supports the community, and serves as a role model for other REALTORS®.
Required Selection Guidelines:
- Active member for at least 5 years
- Ethical leadership (REALTOR® Spirit)
- Civic and charitable involvement
- Strong business conduct
- Active service at the local, state, and national levels
Most Cooperative REALTOR® (est. 1972)
Honors a member with an exceptional cooperative and helpful attitude toward others. Individual team members are eligible.
Note: Individual Team Members are eligible.
Required Selection Guidelines:
- REALTOR® Spirit plus a genuinely cooperative approach
- Works well with agents, lenders, and appraisers
- Keeps everyone informed, communicates well, and goes the extra mile
- Local, state, or national participation
Charles H. Dillemuth Humanitarian of the Year (est. 1988)
Honors a member who contributes greatly to the betterment of the community.
Required Selection Guidelines:
- Civic and community service
- Fraternal or religious contributions
- Individual good deeds done outside any organization (the work was unpaid and outside their regular line of duty)
Ben R. Downing, Jr. Affiliate of the Year (est. 1990)
Honors a non-REALTOR® Affiliate member who upholds high principles and advances good business practices toward REALTORS® and the public.

Required Selection Guidelines:
- A cooperative attitude toward REALTORS®
- Active association involvement
- Excellence in their profession
- Individual Affiliate members only; no corporations.
Kyle M. Jackson Rising Star (est. 2010, renamed 2021)
Honors a newer member showing exceptional business development, REALTOR® involvement, and pursuit of education. Named for Kyle Jackson, a 2019 Leadership graduate and Board member.
Required Selection Guidelines:

- REALTOR® Spirit
- Business initiative
- Local, state or national participation
- Pursuit of designations and continuing education beyond the licensing minimum
- Licensed less than 3 years as of the deadline; number of transactions is considered
Commercial Investment Division (CID) Awards
CID Partner of the Year
The Commercial Investment Division of GBRAR CID Partner of the Year award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding dedication and support to CID in the past year. This recipient also expresses a cooperative and helpful attitude toward their clients and has been a long-time CID member.
CID REALTOR® of the Year
The Commercial Investment Division REALTOR® Member of the Year honors and recognizes an individual who has been a valued member of CID all year long. This recipient has exemplified professional expertise, dedication, and service to our CID Members’ organization and contributions.
Rising Star
In the industry 5 years or less, who has served the CID board, our members, and the community. He or she will have demonstrated excellence in the areas of sales, leadership, and community involvement.
Lifetime Achievement
Given to a member of CID who has served the CID board, our members, and the community, and has enhanced the Baton Rouge commercial real estate industry throughout their career.
Largest Deal
Given to the CID member who has closed the largest sale measured in dollars.
Most Impactful Deal
Criteria for selection include, but are not limited to: Economic Development/Community Impact, Complexity (such as Tax Credits, P.I.L.O.T.’s, T.I.F.’s, Opportunity Zones, Zoning Variances/Changes, Public Private Partnerships, Neighborhood Transformation, Property), other intangible qualities and/or factors that are not easily quantified (such as, but not limited to, design, construction methods/materials, amenities, etc.)
CCIM Gary Louis Scholarship
The Gary Louis CID/CCIM Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship designed to cover tuition and some expenses for the completion of a CCIM course taken during the previous calendar year.
Deadline: October 31, 2025
Eligibility: Applicants must be a CID Member and a Full-Time Commercial Practitioner.
