Our Awards Nomination Guidelines have been updated, and we’re asking all members to review them before submitting a nomination. This ensures every nomination meets the criteria and celebrates our REALTOR® community the way it deserves.

REALTOR® of the Year Award
The REALTOR® of the Year Award est. 1959
Honors a member who advances the profession and community and serves as a role model for other REALTORS®.
Also required: active member for at least 5 years.
Selection Guidelines: ethical leadership (REALTOR® Spirit), civic and charitable involvement, strong business conduct, and active service at the local, state, and national levels.
Most Cooperative REALTOR® of the Year Award
Most Cooperative REALTOR® Award est. 1972
Honors a member with an exceptional cooperative and helpful attitude toward others.
Note: Individual Team Members are eligible.
Selection Guidelines: REALTOR® Spirit plus a genuinely cooperative approach. Works well with agents, lenders, and appraisers, keeps everyone informed, communicates well, and goes the extra mile. Local, state, or national participation.
Charles H. Dillemuth Humanitarian of the Year Award
Charles H. Dillemuth Humanitarian of the Year Award est. 1988
Honors a member who contributes greatly to the community for its betterment. This award was first established in 1988 to honor Mr. Charles H. Dillemuth, who was one of the first recipients of the Golden Deeds Award.
Also required: the work was unpaid and outside their regular line of duty.
Selection Guidelines: civic and community service, fraternal or religious contributions, and individual good deeds done outside any organization.
Ben R. Downing, Jr. Affiliate of the Year Award
Ben R. Downing, Jr. Affiliate of the Year est. 1990
Honors an Affiliate member who upholds high principles and advances good business practices toward REALTORS® and the public. This award was first established in 1990 after Ben R. Downing, Jr., GBRAR’s legal counsel for many years, who always went above and beyond the call of duty.
Also required: individual Affiliate members only; no corporations.
Selection Guidelines: REALTOR® Spirit, a cooperative attitude toward REALTORS®, active association involvement, and excellence in their profession.
The Kyle Jackson Rising Star of the Year Award
Kyle M. Jackson Rising Star est. 2010, renamed 2021
Honors a newer member showing exceptional business development, REALTOR® involvement, and pursuit of education. Named for Kyle Jackson, a 2019 Leadership graduate and Board member whose untimely death came during his term.
Also required: licensed less than 3 years as of the deadline; number of transactions is considered.
Selection Guidelines: REALTOR® Spirit, business initiative, local, state or national participation, and pursuit of designations and continuing education beyond the licensing minimum.
